The Movement Studio of Prescott Valley Hosts 2nd Annual Humboldt Unified School District Summit
Last year Movement Studio raised $ 2,921 through the HUSD summit
Presented by Beltone – A leader in audience health care.
The movement workshop in Prescott Valley launches its 2nd annual HUSD summit. This event is an autonomous hike / bike / walk / jog whose profits will be donated to the Humboldt Foundation for Education (HEF). HEF is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit foundation whose mission is to support students and teachers in the Humboldt Unified School District. Last year, this event raised $ 2,921, which has been used to help fund mini-grants for teachers and scholarships. HEF offers quarterly scholarships to teachers throughout the school year and awards scholarships to 2 Bradshaw Mountain High School graduates each year in May.
The weather is going to be perfect the next few weeks to go out and participate. The “top” is all about hitting your mileage goal. We base the symbolic ‘top’ on the Glassford Hill Trail, but that doesn’t mean you only have to use this trail. This is just a guideline to complete a “summit” (4.5 mi). The goal of this fun walk / run is to get people moving, to have some responsibility and to get involved in a good cause. Participants register using the link below and get their “top” anytime during the month of November. By simply registering and reaching your ‘summit’ you receive a ‘Summit for HUSD’ t-shirt, all proceeds of which will be donated to students and teachers in the Humboldt Unified School District.
Sasha Naasz, owner of The movement workshop, will lead a group hike on Saturday, November 6e at 8:30 am. Participants will meet at the foot of the Glassford Hill Summit Trail to conquer it together. If you can’t come it’s ok, you have until November 13the to register for this fundraiser and until November 30e to participate in your own summit event.
All proceeds will go to the Humboldt Education Foundation which provides community support for educational excellence and contributes to educational experiences that impact the lives of our students. The money raised will help support their efforts with the Hungry Kids Project; recognition of the teacher of the year; scholarships and mini-grants for teachers; and other projects benefiting the students and staff of the Humboldt Unified School District.
We all believe in our children’s future and want the best for their education, so let’s say to our teachers, our kids and our community, YES !!! We care! There are so many virtual races out there, so why not do one that benefits our district AND celebrate your personal summit with some swag !!!
