Owensboro Health has announced investments of nearly $ 720,000 through its annual grant program that will support 35 projects across the region. This year’s amount means OH has invested over $ 7 million in regional agencies since 2011.

The organization announced the recipients of the 2022 Community Health Investment Grant program virtually on Tuesday.

The grants provide in-kind and financial support to health, social service and arts projects and programs across the region. Funded projects and supported agencies cover a wide range of regional needs, from children in local school districts to aging adults and senior services.

The grants target a number of identified health needs specific to the community in addition to the four priority areas of the health system: tobacco and related diseases; The elderly and aging; Arts in healing; and children and school health.

Mark Marsh, President and CEO, said these grants are a key component for Owensboro Health to fulfill its mission of healing the sick and improving the health of the communities they serve.

“These direct community investments allow us to go beyond healthcare and impact other areas that are key determinants of the health of our patients and the community,” said Marsh. “By working with these community partners, we can achieve even more ambitious goals to improve the health of our region. These partnerships are vital for a healthy and vibrant community.
