Mag Mile Capital Announces New Vice President of Origins for the Chicago Team
Mag Mile Capital is pleased to announce that Cody Harper has joined the team as Vice President of Originations and will be based in the Company’s Chicago office.
In his new role at Mag Mile, Harper will be responsible for initiating and closing transactions for clients, providing capital advice, as well as forging new relationships for the company. He will report directly to Matt Weilgus, Head of Originations.
Harper will create value for clients by leveraging the Mag Mile Capital platform and $ 5 billion of experience in real estate debt financing and equity investing, covering all major types of properties. His analytical skills and keen eye for relationship management were honed in his previous roles in structured finance at DBRS, where he evaluated CMBS transactions, and in corporate consulting at Huron, where he provided solutions. strategic finance and technology to C-level executives in a wide range of industries. .
Harper has also developed an in-depth knowledge of capital structuring, underwriting and origination while working at Citigroup, Capmark Finance and GMAC Commercial Mortgage, spearheading the execution of construction period finance and capitalized permanent loans. through tax-exempt bonds, a low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) syndication and agency term funding commitments (FNMA / FHLMC). Over his 20-year career, he has facilitated the foundational development and adaptive reuse of over five million square feet of office, retail and industrial property, as well as the construction and preservation of over 7,600 multi-family apartments nationwide.
Harper holds an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, a BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a major in international business from the University of Science and Technology of Hong Kong. He began his career in New York at Ernst & Young in real estate consulting services. He is also a licensed property management broker in Illinois.
