Achievements-              >          EMMRC, Jodhpur again bagged three more National awards in the 17^th UGC – CEC Educational Video Competition 2004. The awards were presented by Professor Arun Nigavekar, Chairman, UGC to Mr. Praveen K.Jha, Producer of both the films and Mr. Vikas Kapoor, Subject Expert of “Fuzzy – What is Fuzzy Logic” programme.

Ø                  EMMRC Building Phase –II and new studio premises of the Centre has been completed and was inaugurated on 7/2/06 by Dr. Naseem Bhatia, Former Vice-Chancellor, JNV University, Jodhpur.

Ø                  Multimedia Platform has been created at the Centre which facilitated the launch of Edusat on 5^th September, 2005. Edusat has been designed to utilize the latest satellite communication technology by using multimedia and return path communication as the main platform at the classroom end. Indian Space Research Organisation  (ISRO) has been given support for implementing Edusat network by providing 25 SITs for CEC. It shall also provide bandwidth for above SITs.

Ø                  The Centre procured Non-Linear DPS Velocity Editing System alongwith 5 KVA on Line UPS, which is the ultimate real time Non-Linear Editing system for digital video and content creating professionals. This system supports compressed and uncompressed video recording modes, delivers quality so sharp it surpasses digital Betacam. The DPS Reality card combines the functions of a dual stream DDR, video mixer/keyer, real time 3D effects processor, multi-channel audio  mixer, SCSI controller and two graphics framestores in a single PCI slot. This is two channel real time render free system for fast and smooth editing.

Any other special feature :        

Ø                  5^th September, 2005 – Teacher’s day marked the beginning of a new era for EMMRC Jodhpur. EDUSAT Satellite Interactive Terminal received from ISRO, Ahmedabad successfully installed at the Centre giving live connectivity amongst various Centres. The live educational programmes from CEC, New Delhi are now directly available to the Centre for live interaction every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11.00 to 12.00 hrs. Similar monthly schedule is developed for each month. In future the Centre will also become teaching end. “Any time any where” education is no more a distant dream for the country.

Ø                  EMMRC Jodhpur participated in “Career Options 2006” – a Mega Education and Career Fair was organized by Department of Management Studies, Jai Narain Vyas  University and All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi from 2^nd to 4^th February, 2006 at Jaswant Hall, JNV University , Jodhpur. The positive response from the visitors and participants at the previous fair encouraged EMMRC to participate in this fair once again for the people of this region. Details of E-Content and EDUSAT transmission were disseminated as per UGC-CEC guidelines in its endeavours to provide quality multimedia education worldwide. Educational TV films produced by this Centre were also shown to the visitors.

Ø                  His Excellency Dr. Krzysztof Majka, Ambassador of Republic of Poland and Counsellor of the Embassy of Poland, Ms. Malgorzata Vijesis visited Educational Multimedia Research Centre on 20^th February, 2006. They were acquainted with the technology of Edusat and role of Edusat Satellite Interactive Terminal in higher education. He wished the Centre success in its mission of working with advanced technologies in higher education for producing a visible impact on the education scenario of the nation. He appreciated the efforts of promoting excellence in education and capacity building among students with the ultimate goal to create knowledge society for the nation.
