The EM²RC  Sagar is the youngest among 17 electronic Media Centres of the UGC in the country and was established in October 1997 in provision of MoU singed on 31^st January, 1994 among the UGC, the CEC and the University of Sagar for producing educational videos for telecast through National TV Channels.

Situated on the scenic will of the University, the EM²RC  Sagar has a modern and Centrally air-conditioned Studio Complex and an Administrative Block.  The Centre possesses a range of highly sophisticated broadcast quality and digitalization equipment necessary for the production of a film.  Facilities for scripting, outdoor & indoor shootings sound recording and mixing graphics, special effects, editing etc. are available in this Centre at one place.

This Centre has produced, till this date, 90 enrichment programmes of short duration (10-30 minutes each) since 1997 when its studio become functional.

A wide spectrum of subjects pertaining to Science, Art & Culture, Ancient Indian History, Social Sciences, Languages/Literature, Agriculture, Environment, Sport & general interest were chosen and vividly filmed.  This Centre currently produced 20-24 film in a year in Hindi and English language.

Special Highlights

·                     Every year EM²RC  –Sagar organizes an educational film festival named as Gour Film Festival and screen its recently produced films.  The

             festival is opened for the public, students, teachers and reporters etc.

·                     Extends support to academic staff college sponsored Refresher and Orientation courses for college/university teachers.

·                     Produces Career enlightenment programmes titled “Prayas” about newer/emerging /existing areas which students may opt as career.
